Supporting Alaska Native Artists: Introducing Our Seasonal Indigenous Artist Support Loan
At Cook Inlet Lending Center, we believe that preserving and celebrating Indigenous culture is not just a cultural imperative—it's an economic opportunity that strengthens our entire community. That's why we're excited to announce our new Seasonal Indigenous Artist Support Loan, designed specifically for Alaska Native entrepreneurs preparing to showcase their artistry at the 2025 Alaska Native Customary Art Fair, which is held during the Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) Annual Convention.
Why This Program Matters
The AFN Annual Convention represents one of the most significant gatherings of Indigenous peoples in Alaska, and the accompanying Art Fair provides a vital platform for Alaska Native artists to share their cultural heritage while building sustainable businesses. However, participating in such events often requires upfront investment that can be challenging for small business owners and independent artists.
We recognized this gap and created a targeted solution that addresses the unique timing and financial needs of Indigenous artists preparing for this important cultural and economic event.
